So Fathers Day is fast approaching and I’ve been all over Pinterest searching for homemade ideas for presents for the kids and I to make Tom.
If you want to check out my board on ‘Daddy Day Ideas’ click here.
I thought I would also share with you some of the handmade bits I made last year.
Above is the Jensons fathers day card to Daddy, and Spencers one. Spencers footprints were printed using an ink pad like the one you can find here from Hobbycraft. Great price too. The fishing book mark was made with their finger prints. And the Caterpillar gift tag was also made from fingerprints.
Below is the gift I put together for my Dad last year, a few bottles of good cider and a kilner jar filled with bird seed. I used a bunch of raffia in two shades, natural and a green, to make a nest. This I glued to the top of the jar with my glue gun and once that was in place popped Bob the bird on top. I’m not quite sure where he was purchased as my mother-in-law gave him to me. Thanks Teresa 🙂
Complete with a fingerprint bird tag.
The lovely wooden tray come from Sainsburys. I really love the gifts they do for Mothers Day and Fathers Day, so if you’re not one for home-made gifts check Sainsburys out.
And it wouldn’t be a Fathers Day to remember for my other half without sweeties, so here’s the cake we made him. Lemon sponge with lemon curd and buttercream icing inside, adorned with Jelly Tots. ‘Sweet Like Daddy’.
Let me know if you try any of these ideas. I’ve got a lot planned for this Fathers Day (My receipt from Hobbycraft will prove this!!!)so I really best get a move on!
Obviously I wont be sharing with you right now what these ideas are ;).
So in a couple of weeks I will post what we done and how we done it! Watch this space.
