Another cheat, another Crumble!

Following on from my post Cheats Crumble I have since made 3 crumbles and have NOT CHEATED with the crumble topping! Yes you heard right, I got my hands (And nails 😣) dirty!!!

But today when I was making the crumble I had a dig through the cupboards to see what other gems I could find to possibly compliment an apple crumble!

Cherry fruit filling!!!!!! Already made, all ready to go…. #Cheat2!!!!

Layered, not mixed.

The Recipe:

For the crumble:

  • 225g Plain Flour.
  • 115g Butter.
  • 115g Soft Brown Sugar.

The fillings:

  • 4 cooking apples or a mix of cooking and your favourite type, mine is Pink Lady! Peeled, cored and cut into small pieces.
  • 50-100g golden caster sugar (depending on how sweet you like it)
  • Splash of water.
  • 1 tin of cherry fruit filling.

Pre heat oven to 200c / gas mark 6.

Firstly put all the apples, sugar and water into a pan and heat until as smooth/ tender you would like.

To make the crumble, with your fingertips rub the flour and butter together until they resemble bread crumbs, then mix through the sugar.

Layer the fruits, I put the cherry on the bottom followed by the apple and topped with your crumble mix.

Bake in the oven for around 25 minutes.

Mine was made perfect with a dollop of Vanilla ice cream! Yum!!!!
