And in this heat the last think you want to be doing is slaving away in the kitchen when you can be outside enjoying this weather!
No summertime is complete without a BBQ, every Saturday, every day who cares 😉 and this dessert is a perfect for a post BBQ treat!
What you’ll need:
- Already rolled Puff pastry,
- Double cream,
- Caster sugar,
- Vanilla extract,
- Icing sugar and
- Cooking spray or one small egg.
Preheat your oven to 220/ 200 fan assisted.
Take your roll of pastry out of the fridge and allow to come to room temperature or near, this will prevent the pastry from cracking as you unroll it! If you like the rustic look no need to wait 😂 Cut into rectangles, squares or go all out and use some cute cutters like love hearts!
I stabbed each one with a few times with a fork, not sure if this does anything but I thought it may stop the puff pastry from rising too much.
Lay them onto a lined baking tray, I sprayed the tops with one calorie cooking spray but you could use a beaten egg to glaze.
Place in the oven for around 10 minutes or until risen and golden brown.
Remove from oven and allow to cool. Once cooled sprinkle with icing sugar.
Whip up some double cream, sprinkle in some caster sugar and a little vanilla extract – to taste.
Cut up the strawberries and serve everything on a large platter and allow everyone to make their own. Bunny loved this #Winning.
