IKEA hack – Spice rack to Book shelf.

Pinterest, oh such a wonderful thing… you know that little app you pin hundreds, sometimes thousands of bright ideas that you will get round to trying yourself one day. Only for you to try about 3 a year- if that!

Many moons ago I vowed to undertake 3 Pinterest ideas a month, I think that’s what I said.. maybe it was more- or less. To be honest I can’t quite remember.

But whilst Bunny is having her room decorated I have pulled one pin out from the depths of my Pinterest board to finally try today!

An IKEA hack! A very simple one which is probably why I’ve actually done it!

Using the very plain Bekväm spice racks, I painted them using Earthborns ‘Toms bakery’ paint which is a subtle grey shade. My auntie gifted it to me along with another called cupcake love. I’m yet to use Cupcake love.

Find out about Earthborn Eco Breathable paints here.
So this is what I started with, once assembled (which as always with IKEA is very easy). Can you tell I LOVE IKEA?
Once painted and up on the wall, adorned with books- this is the finished look.

The guinea pig hanging banner is from Blossom & Ivy at £5 plus postage.

My princess loves it- as you can see from the above photo she has already got stuck in.

  2. Snap! I have a very similar post from a month or so ago on the exact same hack, it’s such a good (and cheap) idea!
