So this weekend just gone myself and some friends through a surprise hot tub birthday party for our lovely friend Hayley.
We all had set jobs to do, mine were to make the cupcake toppers, cake topper and a personalised dressing gown among others.
The cotton dressing gown I found online, and using my cricut cutting machine I cut ‘Thirty and Fabulous’ out of gold iron on glitter vinyl, using my heat press for even pressure (an iron would work just as well) I bonded it to the back of the dressing gown. I also added her name and a Minnie Mouse head to a white wooden coat hanger so we could display her dressing gown in style.
The name is cut again using my cricut from a gold vinyl. You just use transfer tape to put it into place.
I can’t even think how many of these cupcake toppers I made, too many I think as some weren’t used. I purchased low shed glitter card I purchased by the A4 sheet from EBay. And I cut the heads and bows separate using the cricut and the cricut design space and Procreate on the iPad Pro. Hot glued them to cocktail sticks and leave to dry. They were supper sparkly.
The same was done for the main cake topper, which I designed by using a free font from Fontspace.com and my Procreate app on my iPad. Again, cut with the cricut.
Honestly, this cricut is the dream, anyone could use one, your own imagination is your only limit when you have a cricut on board.
I used a bamboo skewers for the larger cake topper.
